The 34-year-old Bob Woods experienced success in his first head coaching assignment last season and guided the Mississippi Sea Wolves to a 41-26 and 5 regular season record and second place in the ECHL Southwest Division.
On Monday Sea Wolves Operating Partner Bo McMurphy and General Manager Mike Fitzpatrick announced that Head Coach and Director of Hockey Operations bob Woods signed a two-year contract.
Under his leadership and guidance the Sea Wolves captured the Southwest Division in the Kelly Cup playoffs and lost to Greenville three games to one in the Southern Conference finals.
Woods said, "My his family and I are excited to stay in Mississippi. With the new ownership group and their enthusiasm, I believe strongly the Sea Wolves will be successful on and off the ice."
McMurphy said, "The owners were set on signing Bob to a multi-year deal. I think it was the single most important thing to get stability in the club and we're excited he's staying. Personally, he's a great friend. I've coached with Bob in youth hockey and he's excellent with kids. His signing is going to continue to benefit youth hockey and the Sea Wolves."
