Authorities Hope To Create Sketch Of Rape Suspect

Authorities in St. Tammany Parish Louisiana are hoping to soon put the face of a man who raped a woman while impersonating a police officer all over the media.

They expect to come up with a sketch of the man with the help of the victim. The woman told authorities that early Sunday morning on Interstate 10, a man in a white pick up truck with blue police lights, pulled her over, flashed a badge and then drove her to the rest stop in Slidell and raped her.

A spokesman for the St. Tammany Parish Sheriff's Department, James Hartman, told WLOX News they've received a dozen tips so far, but still do not have enough information to make an arrest.

The victim is still in the hospital. Hartman says investigators hope to interview her again this week and get a composite sketch of the suspect.

The suspect is described as a white man, muscular build, 5 feet, 10 inches tall, weighing about 190 pounds. He was driving a white pick-up with police lights on the dash, and reportedly has a badge.

If you have any information, call the Saint Tammany Sheriff's Office at at (985) 898-2338.
