Domino's Pizza Tests Prototype Store In Gulfport

GULFPORT (WLOX) -- Domino's Pizza is trying out a new look for its stores right here in south Mississippi.

The new store on Highway 49 in Gulfport, which opened Tuesday, is the first of its kind. Not only does it showcase a new design for Domino's Pizza, but also new technology -- like a lobby computer that updates your order as you wait.

Owners say they're happy Domino's chose this area to test it out.

"There's no other store like it. It's a prototype store, but I think you'll see more coming. It has double drive-thrus, it has a new look, it's very customer friendly. It has all the newest and latest, greatest computer innovations from Domino's Pizza, so we're very excited about it," RPM Pizza CEO Glenn Mueller said.

The Highway 49 location replaces the one lost on the beach in Katrina. By the way, the new store is also designed to be up and running within 24 hours after any future storms.
