Championship Showdown

If you're a pro basketball fan, it's a very exciting time. For the first time in 21 years, a decades old rivalry will play itself out on the hardwood for the 11th time. The Boston Celtics and Los Angeles Lakers will play for the NBA title.

These two teams first met for the championship back in 1959. The drama played out again in the late 60s, with Bill Russell jumping center for the Celtics, and Wilt Chamberlain in the paint for the Lakers. Then in the mid 80's, the competition heated up even more when the battle featured Bird vs. Magic.

Now, in the present, it's Kobe Bryant going up against Kevin Garnett. It's a dream match-up between two of the most successful franchises in NBA history. The Celtics have won the trophy 16 times, with the Lakers claiming 14 titles. All the games can be seen on WLOX-TV. The expectations for a great series are high. We feel both teams will deliver on those expectations, and the winner will be you, the fan.

That's our opinion, we would like to hear yours. Email your thoughts to
