Gulfport Attorney Running Against Justice Diaz

JACKSON (WLOX) -- Another candidate has entered the race for a seat from the southern district on the state Supreme Court. Gulfport attorney Paul Newton, 53, has officially filed to run.

Newton is an Ole Miss graduate, and has practiced law on the coast since 1991. He has a Masters degree in tax law.

Chancery Court Judge Randy Pierce of Leaksville is also a candidate. Both men will try to unseat the incumbent, Justice Oliver Diaz, Jr. who is a native of D'Iberville.
