An afternoon boating trip had a tragic ending for a group of friends in Biloxi on Thursday.
Five adults and one child were boating in the Big Lake section of the back bay when their boat got stuck on a sand bar. Two men jumped off the boat to push it away from the sandbar. Both were pulled under.
Chris Stone, 21, was able to swim back to the boat. Larry Renzelli, 49, of Stubenville, Ohio, came up for a moment but then went back under. Rescue crews found his body around 10 p.m.
Coroner Gary Hargrove says Renzelli and his 12-year-old son were visiting a friend on the Coast.
Stone is in the intensive care unit at Gulf Coast Medical Center in stable condition.
Some members of the Gulf Coast Down Syndrome Society met Saturday at Dragon's Den tattoo parlor in Ocean Springs, rolling up their sleeves to feel the bite of the tattoo needle. It's all part of a national movement called #LuckyFewTattoo.More >>
