Alderman Arrested For Petty Larceny

An Ocean Springs alderman was arrested Thursday on a charge of petty larceny.

Ocean Springs alderman Joe Carvin was arrested at the Palace Casino around 2:30 a.m. Thursday. Biloxi Police say Carvin, who is a dealer at the Palace, is accused of stealing three casino chips worth $75.

Palace management signed the charges against Carvin and suspended him from work. Carvin is free on a $570 personal recognizance bond.

Carvin has not returned our calls asking for comment.
