New investors have entered into an agreement to lease the Mississippi Sea Wolves for the 2002-2003 ECHL season. The group, WOLFPACK LLC, will have an option to purchase the Sea Wolves following the season. Kevin Harvey, Bo McMurphy and a few others have formed the new group, one that will be announced at a news conference Wednesday afternoon.
Sea Wolves majority owner Jean Gagnon has stepped down as the teams Operating Manager and minority owner Lenny Sawyer takes over that position. Sawyer remains Voting Governor for the Sea Wolves in league dealings.
Gagnon, who owned 75 percent of the Sea Wolves, now owns 56 percent. Lenny Sawyer and Sherman Muths still own 25 percent of the ECHL team.
