A state prisoner who escaped from Singing River Hospital in Pascagoula, where he was undergoing medical treatment, has been captured.
Mississippi Department of Corrections officials said Frederick Smith, 32, was arrested Wednesday by Moss Point police. Smith was being held Thursday at the Pascagoula jail.
MDOC officials said Clark was taken to the hospital Tuesday night from the Pascagoula Restitution Center and fled the hospital while waiting for discharge papers and medication.
Smith was serving an eight-year prison sentence with five years suspended for grand larceny in Harrison County.
