Vendors Say Judge Never Paid Money Due

Five vendors testified on Tuesday that they sold various office supplies to Harrison County Chancery Judge Wes Teel, and he never paid them.

Teel is charged with 13 counts of embezzlement. He's accused of pocketing $3,800 that the state reimbursed him for office expenses instead of using the money to pay the vendors.

The vendors said they tried to collect their money by sending late notices to Teel and turning over the bills to collection agencies. Prosecutors say Teel didn't pay the vendors until after state investigators began looking into his office expenses.

The prosecution is expected to rest Wednesday.
