A traffic stop Wednesday night in Saucier uncovered an unusual find for Harrison County Sheriff's Deputies.
Along with marijuana and cocaine, deputies found 22 fighting roosters with metal spurs. The three Florida men who were arrested told deputies they were taking the birds to Louisiana to participate in cock fighting.
The roosters are at the Humane Society of South Mississippi in Gulfport. Since there is no law that bans transporting the birds over state lines, the men can reclaim them.
The men were charged with marijuana and cocaine possession, and all bonded out of the county jail.
