OCEAN SPRINGS (WLOX) -- It was a sea of green in Ocean Springs Sunday. Hundreds of people came out for the 15th annual Herb and Garden Festival.
"It's just grown and gotten better," said Lynda Baker.
This is Baker's 14th year attending the festival and she says she uses the annual event to stock up her Long Beach herb shop.
Her eight-year-old daughter Whitney is already taking a liking to the festival and she's preparing to do some gardening of her own.
"The flowers and vegetables are pretty and it's a nice experience," said Whitney Baker.
The festival is a haven for plant enthusiasts but it also attracts art lovers. This year's event was filled with specialty gifts and natural hand made beauty products.
There were other new additions like lectures, allergy specialists and interactive demonstrations and while most of the crowd was made up of South Mississippians, there were plenty of out-of-towners.
"We came out to look at the herbs and the arts and crafts that are available from local people and I love to come to these because everything is healthier," said Lynn Big.
Big and her friend Lucy made the trip from New Orleans and even though this their first time at the Herb and Garden Festival, like many, they are already looking forward to next year.
