HARRISON COUNTY (WLOX) -- A jury could not decide if Joel Scott Spires should receive the death penalty. So Thursday, the judge in the case sentenced Spires to Life in Prison, without the possibility of parole.
Wednesday, Spires was found guilty of Capital Murder for the death of Rodney Wade Saucier.
The 44-year-old Kiln native was found in the woods near Pass Christian in December of 2005. Saucier had been stabbed about 50 times.
A deadly virus is threatening the crawfish industry in Southwest Louisiana.
