Renaissance Festival Is A Fun History Lesson

Lords and Ladies, Saints and Sinners all are called to attend the Ocean Springs Renaissance Festival. It's going on this weekend, and if you're a history buff or just want to have a good time, Marshall Park is the place to be.

St. John's Episcopal Church hosted it's first Renaissance festival in downtown Ocean Springs. Members of St. Johns say it's part of their Anglican history and a real learning experience for visitors.

"The Anglican church is the Episcopal church, so it's a historical reference as far that goes, but during the Renaissance period in England, they would have knights and stuff and have fairs," Jefferson Rogers said

And all of the things you would find at a medieval fair you can find this weekend at Marshall Park. The free event ends Sunday at 4 p.m.
