Musgrove Pledges Support For DHS

A million dollars in federal funds is on the way to help battle a staffing shortage at the local office of the Department of Human Services.

The Harrison County Division of Family and Children Services will be down to five case workers starting June 1. It's supposed to have 22. But Gov. Ronnie Musgrove now says he's found federal dollars to help the DHS.

"We must take steps to protect our children, and that is what we are going to do," Musgrove told WLOX News. "We have found the money got approval from the dhs, and we will be hiring social workers immediately."
