Sun Herald Publisher Honored With Santucci Award

Once a year, the Coast Chamber salutes a Harrison County business leader who epitomizes the spirit of the gulf coast. Monday, that honor went to the publisher of the Sun Herald newspaper.

Ricky Matthews received the Pat Santucci Spirit of the Coast Award because of everything he's done to help his hometown, and its newspaper thrive, especially during south Mississippi's recovery efforts.

"I think recognizing the leadership I've had the opportunity to provide is really recognizing all the leaders of south Mississippi who are really doggedly determined to rebuild the coast bigger and better than ever," Matthews said.

Ricky Matthews was the 20th recipient of the prestigious Spirit of the Coast Award.
