A new Harry Potter film had its world premier Friday, not in Hollywood, but in Ocean Springs.
Cub Scout Pack 210 produced "Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets." The film is the fourth in a series of cub scout movies, and a sequel to last year's movie "Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone." The young actors spent three months making the film.
"Everyone wants to be a movie star once in their life. This is a great opportunity to make a great film." said Cub Master Ronnie Salters.
"I do like making movies but it is very tiring," said Jackson Weldon, who plays Harry Potter.
"It was big challenge, you had more lines and you had to go to more places,"said Britt Ainsworth, who plays Rebeus Hagrid.
'More places' actually adds up to eleven locations across Ocean Springs. Moving around town had its ups and downs.
"Sometimes it got really boring playing him, but sometimes it got really fun," said Ben Salters, who plays Draco Malfoy.
Besides being fun, it was also a lesson about how difficult movie making can be. Salters says these youngsters will learn a lot from this experience.
"Other than being a movie star for a day, they also earn their showman badge, and of course they have that memorabilia of having that movie. We give them a copy, to show their kids when they grow up," said Salters.
