Salvation Army Worker Honored With Good Neighbor Award

Wednesday Wal-Mart honored Caesar Grandtham at its Ocean Springs store with the company's Good Neighbor Award.

Grandtham works out of the Salvation Army's division headquarters in Jackson which oversees Mississippi, Alabama and Louisiana. He oversees fund raising.

Wal-Mart employees thanked him for his part in helping the Salvation Army distribute $41 million in aid here on the Gulf Coast since Katrina.

"I'm truly honored to have been honored by Wal-Mart to receive this Good Works Award. Wal-Mart is a great partner of the Salvation Army and they've enabled us to make a difference on the Gulf Coast. Without them, we would not have been able to do what we do," Grandtham said.

Grandtham is leaving our area to work in the Salvation Army's Houston division, which includes four million people.
