The Captain of the parade says the krewe has not stopped partying since their ball two weeks ago.
"We just have a good time," she said.
The Krewe of Nereids is made up of 165 ladies who live in the Waveland-Bay St. Louis area. So when it came time to choose this year's grand marshall, they decided to go for Mr. Hancock County himself, Al Showers.
"People are getting into it. The Mardi Gras spirit starts before the parade ever rolls," Al said.
Al Showers says he has participated in several parades across the Coast however, this one had him a little nervous.
"I'm feeling the pressure because I've been covering this area for 17 years and a lot of people know my name so instead of throw me something mister. It's gonna be like throw me something Al Showers," he said.
Dozens of floats, bands and dance teams participated in this year's celebration, making it the party parade.
