Toledo Tourists Rerouted To Jail In Gulfport

Three people from Toledo, Ohio ended up in a Gulfport jail after a scuffle at the Gulfport-Biloxi International Airport Thursday night.

It all started when security agents began questioning a woman about the contents of her bag. Police say Eli Dennis Watson, 52, started yelling and cursing at his wife Kim Rochelle Watson, 51, as TSA agents were checking the bags.

After a warning, police stepped in to arrest Mr. Watson. That's when police say Mrs. Watson jumped through the security area and started attacking the officer, hitting her repeatedly and chocking her.

The Watsons each face charges of disorderly conduct, public intoxication and resisting arrest. Kim Watson also faces two counts of assault and trespassing.

A man traveling with the Watsons was also arrested. Stephen Kemp, 53, is charged with interfering with police.

The police officer involved in the incident was taken to the hospital where she was treated and released.
