Singing in front of American Idol Judges Randy, Paula, and of course Simon is not easy, just asked 22-year-old Brandon Green.
"I audition before three other times," American Idol Contestant Brandon Green said.
He was rejected all three times, but the Lucedale native didn't give up.
So, when the show was holding auditions in Texas for this season, Green says he was determined to make the cut.
"I just sang like I usually do in concerts, or church. I was not star struck or nervous," Green said.
As you can hear he nailed the audition and got the Golden Ticket from the judges.
The next stop is Hollywood; there Green will have to prove his singing style is good enough to stay in this vocal competition.
"I love music; it is in my blood in my veins ya know. I am hoping to be the next American Idol."
His mom Meleta Green admits she was skeptical about her son chances, but she now believes his southern voice will take him straight to the top.
"I started crying because he was so excited. This is part of a dream that can possibly come true and I think he can represent Lucedale and represent America," Mother Meleta Green said.
Brandon has developed quite a fan base here in Lucedale. At George County High School, teachers and students say it feels good to see one of their own in the spotlight.
"I have always been a big fan of Brandon. Who isn't a Brandon fan, he is like the coolest," George County Student Megan Weaver said.
"It is good for him to have exposure, and we are hoping for him to go as far as he can go," George County High School Teacher Larry Perdue said.
