When Katrina roared ashore, Gary Spencer Smith was at his home in Bay St. Louis. As the storm surge engulfed his home, Smith scambled to save hundreds of paintings.
The art was created by Gary's father Laurent Smith who died in 2003.
"I promised my dad I would preserve his paintings" Smith said. Laurent Smith was a recluse so few people are aware of his artistc abilities.
