LaFont Inn Turned Over To Bank

Major financial trouble forced the LaFont Inn to be turned over to Hancock Bank.

It happened last week when the Pascagoula landmark was defaulted back to Hancock Bank. The bank is in the process of bringing in a management team to oversee the 192 room facility until the hotel can be sold.

So far, there are no plans to close the hotel or cancel any of the events already scheduled there.

Almost two years ago, original owner Doug Fountaine, sold the La Font to a group of investors from Tennessee.
