The First Presbyterian Church of Pascagoula has posted a message on their website expressing condolences after the death of 16-year-old John Mark Adams, a volunteer working at the church.
The message says, " Our prayers are with the family and friends of John Mark Adams of Cadiz, Kentucky, who died in his sleep at our church early Friday morning, December 28."
Adams was working on the church along with his father and brother.
The family was working with volunteers from Crossroads Fellowship church from Cadiz, Kentucky.
Emergency workers were called to the First Presbyterian Church Friday morning after the teen was found unresponsive. Adams was taken to Singing River Hospital where he was pronounced dead.
Jackson County Coroner Vicki Broadus says initial autopsy results show the teen died from respiratory impairment, however the cause of his death is still under investigation.
