There's just one day of shopping left before stores all over South Mississippi will shut down for the Christmas holiday, so the rush to get those last minute items is officially on and there are some items that just won't stay on store shelves.
The Wal-mart in D'Iberville is packed with last minute holiday shoppers. Anthony Chisesi, a manager at the store, says bicycles and pre-school aged toys are always popular holiday items. However, there is one gift they can't keep in stock.
"The Nintendo Wii has been a tough item for everyone to get in quantity," Chisesi said.
The past few mornings the store's electronics department has seen a line of people waiting in hopes of getting their hands on the interactive game system.
Bridgett Militello work in the electronics department but she remembers waiting in line last Christmas to buy the Wii for her children.
"I stood in line for three hours getting one," Militello said.
There are now new accessories and new games for the Wii but the price is still $249.
Store managers say items like transformer action figures, Hannah Montana gear and anything related to the box office hit 'High School Musical' are also popular.
As for the Nintendo Wii, leaders say they probably won't see any more on store shelves until after Christmas.
The Circuit City and Best Buy in Gulfport are also sold out of the game.
