A variety of economic opportunities exist in George, Greene, Stone and Perry Counties. So now the four counties have formed an alliance that they call "4 Rural Southeast Mississippi."
Three dozen community leaders met at the Perkinston campus on Tuesday. They talked about how the regional partnership will help them at the state capital and in the business world.
"We want to leverage the power of each community by having it, as for in the area of say timber, which is one of our resources here, to try and make that a bigger impact economically than it is today," Stone County representative Jere Hess said.
