Christmas Shopping For Pets Off To A Strong Start

Whether it acts like an absolute saint or a grumpy old bear, to their masters, pets are always perfect. Kim Langford, owner of Tail Waggers, says that kind of unconditional love is what her pet pampering business is all about.

"We sell everything for the pampered pet," says Langford. "From clothes to socks to specialty toys, and we also do grooming."

Yes, you heard correctly, socks for your dog.

"We can't let there little toes get cold," says Langford.

In her 2 years in business in D'Iberville, Langford has seen steady growth in her pet grooming and gift business, especially during the Christmas season.

"This is an excellent time of year. We've got treats galore and little stockings and Christmas outfits for all the pets to wear."

And if a well dressed Rover is going to wear socks, he'll need the whole ensemble.

"The minute they take them for a walk and somebody sees them in it they get stopped and talked to," says Langford. "Yeah, you can't go wrong."

In fact, Langford says, people find buying for pets a lot less stressful than buying for people.

"Everybody loves their pets, and when you think someone has everything, the one thing they could always use is something special for their little pets that set beside them every day."

And at Tail Waggers everyone is on Santa's list, whether they're nice or a little naughty.
