Boudreau Named Interim Head Coach Of Washington Capitals

WASHINGTON (AP) - The Washington Capitals have made a coaching change, firing Glen Hanlon and replacing him with Bruce Boudreau on an interim basis. The decision comes amid a five-game losing streak that's dropped the Caps to 3-and-15 since a 3-and-0 start. Boudreau had been coaching the Capitals' AHL affiliate in Hershey.

Boudreau was the first head of the Mississippi Sea Wolves and guided the ECHL team to the 1999 Kelly Cup Championship.  His goal was to coach in the NHL and he's getting his shot.

Boudreau's assistant coach, Bob Woods, has been named the interim head coach of Hershey.  Woods also spent time in Mississippi as the Sea Wolves head coach.
