Black Spring Break Wrap-Up

Traffic was far less than last year because the crowds were signifincantly less. By Saturday evening the party picked up a bit but a lot of Spring Breakers seemed disappointed by the small number of revelers.

On Saturday, police did institute their Highway 90 one-lane traffic plan. There were very few problems with traffic flow all weekend.

By Sunday morning the streets were back to normal and just a few Spring Breakers stuck around as vendors packed up their tents and went home on a very uneventful Black Spring Break 2002.

Overall, police towed 122 cars this year. Last year, nearly 600 cars were towed. Officers made 72 Black Spring Break-related arrests over the weekend. Last year, they made nearly 200 arrests.
