Thousands of kids got a thank you from Keesler Air Force Base on Monday.
Keesler hosted it's sixth annual "Child Pride Day." The event was open to all children whose parents had the credentials to get on base.
Activities included giving children an up-close look at local fire trucks, military face painting and a bag pipe concert.
Keesler officials say military children go through a lot emotionally by having to move and changing schools They say "Child Pride Day" is a way of showing their appreciation for the children's sacrifices.
