Vote On Tuesday

This Tuesday is an important day for every Mississippian of voting age. It's election day. And it's a day too many of us ignore. That's a shame.

It's your chance to participate in American democracy, your chance to have a direct say in how state and local government will be run for the next four years.

And most of us blow that chance every election.

During the primaries, only 38% of us bothered to take a few minutes to have our voices heard at the ballot box... And much less than that in some areas of the coast.

That's a sad statement about our commitment to our state.

All the candidates have spent the past several months letting you know where they stand on the issues.

Now it's your turn to tell them what you think of their plans. Your right to vote is most precious. Don't throw it away.

Vote on Tuesday. And if you don't , accept the results without complaint.

That's our opinion, we would like to hear yours. Email your thoughts to editorials@wlox.com.
