South Mississippi homeowners will soon have more options when it comes to going green. That's because Wal-Mart and the Salvation Army are teaming up to bring a new expo to the coast, aimed at making homes more energy efficient.
The Green Mississippi Gulf Coast Expo will debut next spring, in conjunction with the Home and Garden Show.
Green leaders say it's a wonderful opportunity for south Mississippi to make a difference during the rebuilding process.
"Rebuilding is something that's going to happen anyway, because there is such a need for it here. The idea of rebuilding smarter, and a way that is more economically viable, helps the people and protects the health of the occupants. It's really just a great opportunity for the Gulf Coast," said Melissa Gallagher-Rogers with the U.S. Green Building Council.
