Biloxi Man Killed In Car-Train Accident

An early morning car-train accident claimed a life in East Biloxi this morning.

Bradley Charles Herring, 52, of Biloxi died of massive trauma. Police say at about 3:15 a.m., Herring failed to yeild to the flashing red lights at the railroad crossing, running his 1985 Chrysler beneath the middle of a moving CSX train at Crawford Street.

The engineer didn't know about the impact, and dragged the car almost a mile to Dorries Street. The train came to a stop when the emergency brakes responsed to the wear and tear on the regular brakes that resulted from the dragging.

The accident remains under investigation.
