Sea Wolves Hook Easy Win Over KingFish 8-4 Friday Night

Mississippi Sea Wolves head coach Bob Woods watched his club tune up for the first round of the ECHL Kelly Cup playoffs next week with an impressive win over the Kingfish, a club that failed to crack the playoffs.

It was a big night for Travis Lisabeth. He came up with a hat trick and added an assist. Lisabeth scored the Sea Wolves first goal at 6:27 of the first period. He bagged his second about 4 minutes later on an assist from Brent Gauvreau. Lisabeth came up with a hat trick at 7:55 of the second period on Brent Gauvreau's third assist on the night. Gauvreau also added a goal in the 3rd period, his 29th on the season.

Jim Baxter who had been suffering from a severe ankle sprain for weeks came out with gusto Friday night. Baxter dished out three assists.

Francois Fortier bagged his 36th goal at 14:52 of the third period. It was an offensive showcase before 4,477 fans in the Mississippi Coast Coliseum.

Both teams clash again 7:05 p.m. Friday in Baton Rouge,closing out the 72 game regular season. The Sea Wolves open the playoffs 7:05 p.m. Wednesday. They'll face either New Orleans or Pensacola in the Wolves Den.
