A pat on the back to the Jackson County Board of Supervisors for giving servicemen and women a tax break while they are serving in war zones.
The board recently passed a 100 dollar car tax exemption for service personnel serving in Iraq and Afghanistan.
While it is not a big break, it does send a signal from Jackson County leaders that they do appreciate these soldiers who are spending months, if not years, away from their friends and loved ones.
This is something we think should happen in all south Mississippi counties.
The cost would be small to the counties but the message it sends is huge.
Call your local supervisors and let them know that you support a car tax exemption for our military men and women.
