Former Reserve Police Officer Arrested For Rape

A veteran reserve police officer in Bay St. Louis was arrested on two counts of statutory rape and one count sexual battery.

Herbert Roles, 35, has worked off and on for the Bay St. Louis Police Department since 1991 as a reserve patrol officer.

Authorities say the charges stem from his involvement with a 13-year-old girl.

Roles was arrested Wednesday on two of the charges. He bonded out of jail and was arrested again Thursday.

Bay St. Louis Police Chief Frank McNeil told WLOX NEWS that Roles was fired Wednesday after the first arrest.
