Brass Hold Off Sea Wolves 1-0 In A Defensive Struggle Friday Night

Defense, defense and more defense was the name of the game Friday night in the Mississippi Coast Coliseum. 

At 3:20 of the final period J.F. Houle broke a scoreless tie propelling the New Orleans Brass past the home standing Mississippi Sea Wolves.

Houle scored on a power play, the only time the Brass cashed in on 5 power play tries.  The Sea Wolves came up empty on 8 power plays.

New Orleans goalie Paxton Schafer stopped all 23 shots on goal while Colin Zulianello halted 36 of 37 shots.

The Sea Wolves, sitting in second place in the ECHL Southwest Division, remain one point in front of the Pensacola IcePilots.  Jackson beat Pensacola 4-1 Friday night.

Mississippi is back on the home ice 7:35 Saturday hosting the Arkansas Riverblades and will try and clinch a playoff slot with a win.
