St. Martin High School Teacher Killed In I-10 Accident In Mobile

It was tragic day in Mobile on Saturday for a St. Martin High School teacher. 31-year-old Kelda Spence was killed in a car accident in Mobile Saturday afternoon.

According to the Alabama Highway Patrol, Spence was driving Eastbound on I-10 around 1:50 p.m. when she lost control of her car.  Spence collided with a 2002 Chevrolet that was traveling in the Westbound lane. She was wearing her seatbelt.

The Alabama Highway Patrol said Spence died at the scene from injuries.

Kelda Spence was an Eighth and Ninth Grade Special Education teacher for six years at St. Martin High School.

St. Martin High School Principal Dr. Toriano Holloway says no plans have been finalized for a memorial. Holloway is planning to meet with Spence's family on Sunday.

Richard and Tina Daniels, both 41-years-old and from Mobile, were the driver and passenger, respectively, of the 2002 Chevrolet.  They were taken to the USA Medical Center in Mobile, Alabama.  Their conditions were not released.
