A tip of the hat to the Gulfport City Council for approving a 90 day moratorium on any new outdoor advertising signs.
We have editorialize before that we think there are too many billboards on our major traffic arteries, especially Highway 90.
As Gulfport tries to reestablish Highway 90 as a scenic drive we believe the new electronic billboards are out of place.
It's good to hear Gulfport Council members also agree.
They now add their voices to ours, the Gulf Coast Business Council, and many others.
During this 90 day moratorium there will be public hearings that will allow you to speak out about the clutter of signs.
We only have a short window of time to be heard.
Tell your concerns about the sign clutter to your council members and also go to the public hearings... And let everyone with a say in this matter know how you want the beach road in Gulfport to look in the future
If we don't get it right now, then Highway 90 will turn into an even more jumble of signs that will take away from the natural beauty of our beach road.
