Pascagoula Councilman Settles Charges Out Of Court

The case against a Pascagoula councilman was settled quietly out of court.

In May, Bill Jones was arrested on charges of public drunkenness, failure to obey a police officer and not having navigation lights on his boat.

In late June, Jones' lawyer entered a plea of not guilty on all the charges. However, a few days later, Jones pleaded guilty to not having navigation lights and disobeying a police officer. The charge of public drunkenness was dismissed.

Jones was originally slated to appear in court Thursday.
