It Was Paradise In the Wolves Den Friday Night As In Dave Paradise

Forward Dave Paradise exploded on the ice Friday night helping subdue the New Orleans Brass(28-26-3) who had won 3 straight in the Wolves Den before the Southwest Division clash. Paradise came up with a hat trick leading the Mississippi Sea Wolves (32-23-3) past New Orleans 4-2.

After Pete Pierman gave the Brass a 1-0 lead with a solid goal at 12:08 of the second period, Dave Paradise tied the game with his 16th goal on the season at 16:55 of the second period.

With momentum on their side, the Sea Wolves grabbed a 2-1 lead a few minutes after the Paradise goal on a beautiful back hander off the stick Ryan Lauzon. That was Ryan's sixth goal of the season, first since December 22nd.

Mississippi didn't quit. Brent Gauvreau sent the puck to Travis Lisabeth off to Paradise and the veteran forward gave the Sea Wolves a 3-1 advantage. The Brass tried their best, cutting the lead 3-2 on a goal off the stick of Matt Demarski.

With under a minute remaining the Brass pulled goalie Paxton Schafer and the Sea Wolves took advantage. Paradise scored his hat trick on an empty netter securing a 4-2 victory.

Defenseman Jix Baxter re aggravated his ankle in practice Friday morning and his status remains up in the air along with Sea Wolves leading scorer Steffon Walby who was slightly injured in Friday's game.
