The U.S. government is offering a $5 million reward in the Daniel Pearl case.
The State Department says it's outraged by the brutal slaying of the kidnapped Wall Street Journal reporter. Spokesman Richard Boucher hopes the reward will lead to the arrest or conviction of those responsible.
The reward will be advertised in Pakistan as well as on the State Department's Web site.
Meantime, a high-ranking Pakistani diplomat says Pakistan does not object to handing over to the U.S. the chief suspect in Pearl's killing, Omar Saeed. But the official says some legal issues must be worked out first.
