Miss Mississippi Pageant Will Benefit From One-Of-A-Kind Guitar

Peavy Electronics has built a one-of-a-kind guitar right here in Mississippi, and its custom tunes will benefit the Miss Mississippi pageant's scholarship program.

The Custom Miss Mississippi Guitar will showcase the faces and signatures of the four Miss Mississippi winners who brought the Miss America crown home to the Magnolia State.

Peavey built the guitar in commemoration of the 50th Miss Mississippi crowning in Vicksburg, coming up next weekend.

They are Mary Ann Mobley, Lynda Mead Shea, Cheryl Prewitt Salem and Susan Akin.

Cecilia Derrington of Peavy Electronics says "Hartley Peavey and Mary Peavey, our CEO and President, believe in Mississippi and want to stay in Mississippi and so we feel like this is a way that we can honor those Miss Mississippi's that went on to be Miss America."

Taryn Foshee, Miss Mississippi 2006, says our four Miss Americas will be back for this year's show.

Foshee says, "Also 39 of our former Miss Mississippi's will all be back in Vicksburg, so it will be a really neat opportunity to meet these women."

The ornate guitar will be autographed by all Miss Mississippi winners who attend the 2007 pageant.
