Gamblers Line Up For Hard Rock's Grand Opening

People stood in line long before the Hard Rock opened its doors Saturday morning ready to rock. Once the doors opened, the die hard, hard rockers kept coming, and coming and coming.

"It's the greatest thing I tell you," says Carolyn Lohman of Diamondhead.

"It's just awesome," says Alex Marr of Dallas, Texas.

"I'm enjoying it, loving it," says Helen Amos of Jones County.

"Everything's awesome. I really like it," says Evelina Mineikyte.

The casino features a Katrina memorial with items salvaged after the storm. The pieces serve as a reminder of just how far the casino has come on the two year journey to Saturday's grand opening.

"I wanted to come the first time, but of course, it was delayed and I was disappointed.  But, I wanted to come today and I really made it.  It's the greatest thing ever.  It's the best casino on the coast," says Lohman.

"It's pretty emotional. We're happy. It's been a long time coming. We're really excited to let everyone see what's inside the building," says Hard Rock Manager Joe Billhimer.

"When you walk in, everything's, like, so awesome. The memorabilia and everything... I think it's really awesome," says Mineikyte.

You can see priceless pieces from international music legends like John Lennon and David Bowie to homegrown Mississippians like 3 Doors Down and Elvis.

"I've been to the Hard Rock in several places, but this one is absolutely fabulous. I'm enjoying it, loving it," says Amos. "We're going to tell them that the coast is alive again."

On Thursday, 3 Doors Down, will be the first act to hit the Hard Rock stage.
