Teel Trial Moved To Hattiesburg

The federal trial of Ryan Teel and three other former Harrison County jailers will be held in Hattiesburg.

Federal Judge Louis Guirola signed the order Thursday to move the trial away from Gulfport.

Teel's lawyer wanted the trial moved away from the coast because of pre-trial publicity.

During this week's pre-trial conference, the judge agreed to a change of venue. The trial is set for August 6th in Hattiesburg.

Teel, Rick Gaston, Daniel Evans and Karl Stolze are accused of civil rights violations for the alleged abuse of inmates at the Harrison County jail.
