Man Arrested For Capital Murder In Biloxi

A late night car chase ended with a man shot by police and then arrested for the capital murder of a Biloxi convenience store owner killed Thursday.

The chase started around Highway 90 in Gulfport and ended on I-10 between the Harrison and Jackson County Line on exit 48. Police say Jason Lee Keller, 27, stopped and got out of the stolen pick-up truck he was driving after the tires blew out from running over spike strips.

The officer on the scene said Keller was confrontational and he felt his life was threatened so the officer shot Keller. Keller was taken to the hospital and is listed in stable condition.

Police found the convenience store owner dead behind the counter after a phone call from a customer late Thursday morning. Hat Nguyen, 41, had been living at the Food Mart on Popp's Ferry Road since losing her home to Katrina.

Biloxi police have charged Keller with capital murder in Nguyen's Death. Police say the community played a big part in helping them find Keller.
