Woman's Body Found At Biloxi Convenience Store

Biloxi Police are investigation the death of a local businesswoman as a possible homocide.

Police say around 9:45 Thursday morning they responded to a call from customer at the Food Mart on Popps Ferry Road. When police arrived, they found Hat Nguyen, 41, lying dead behind the counter.

Investigators say Nguyen both owned and worked at the convenience store. They also say she'd also been living at the store since losing her house in Katrina.

Biloxi police are not saying how Nguyen died or releasing a possible motive. Harrison County coroner Gary Hargrove says an autopsy would be performed either today or tomorrow.

In the meantime, Nguyen's family says they're trying to cope with her death.

"I have no idea right now. Everybody just has to get their thoughts together and see what we're going to do, what's going to happen. The family members in Vietnam. We've had to call them and they can't be here right now with family so we're just having to lean on one another," Nguyen's brother-in-law Sammy Arrington said.

Biloxi police say they believe the possible homicide took place between 8:30am and 9:30am Thursday morning. Anyone who has any information is asked to call Biloxi Police.
