Harrison County wants to know if its tourism commission and the coliseum commission need to consolidate some of their jobs. So supervisors formed a committee, and asked it to establish the criteria for a consolidation study.
Gulf Coast Gaming Association director Beverly Martin chairs the committee. Today she talked about why her group wants the study done.
"Because we have several hundred thousand room nights just my members alone that need to be filled. The way of course to fill those is with citywide conventions. So, anybody that is either directly or indirectly involved in helping reach that goal is of interest to us," Martin said.
