New Exhibit Comes To Walter Anderson Museum

A new exhibit on the Coast mixes the beauty of art with science.

The Walter Anderson Museum in Ocean Springs unveiled a new travelling exhibit "Visions of Nature-- the World of Walter Anderson" on Wednesday. The exhibit incorporates the works of the late artist with specimens from the Museum of Natural Science in Jackson.

Museum director Clayton Bass says the exhibit is a great education tool.

"You actually may see the bird that was the subject matter for the painting, or the photo that it inspired, so it's a wonderful way for students to see the creativity that comes from nature," Bass said."

The exhibit will remain in Ocean Springs until May. It will then head to two other museums. Those locations have not been announced.
