Riemann Family Repurchases Original Funeral Home Business

The Riemann Family is back at the helm of Riemann Funeral Homes. The family's original funeral home business has been repurchased, and litigation between David Riemann and Alderwoods (Mississippi), Inc. has been resolved.

As a result, David Riemann will rejoin his family business immediately as its Chairman of the Board. Chad Riemann will continue to serve as President; Mike Riemann will  oversee the advance funeral planning company; and Jeff Riemann will have responsibility for the companies accounting and administrative functions.

The Riemanns will also continue to operate Gulf Coast Funeral Homes.

In 1920, Ernest and Ruth Riemann purchased the Wilder Funeral Home, later renamed Riemann Funeral Home, in Gulfport. The Gulfport facility was relocated to 25th Avenue, Gulfport, in 1921 and remained there until it was destroyed by Hurricane Katrina. Other locations include Long Beach, Pass Christian, Biloxi, Bay St Louis, and Orange Grove.

In October 2005, Chad Riemann opened Gulf Coast Funeral Homes in Delisle. A Gulfport location was opened in February 2006.

The Riemann Family currently has plans to expand its business by opening a new facility in Jackson County.
